9ct Gold & Zirconium Wedder - Size W

This 9ct Gold and Zirconium (Zr) Wedder has a band width of 8mm.

Zr is a very strong, malleable, ductile, lustrous silver - grey metal, it has a very strong resistance to corrosion and heat and is not affected by acids or alkalis.  When heated under controlled conditions, it develops a black surface oxidation which is extremely durable and has a natural sheen.

Zr is very similar to Titanium in its properties, lighter than steel and its hardness is close to Platinum.  Zr is hypoallergenic and non-magnetic it cannot be soldered using traditional jewellery soldering techniques.  If damaged whilst wearing, Zr can be cut off the finger using standard cutting tools.
